Basic Search Engine Optimisation Tips For Webmasters
SEO is one of the best ways to get traffic, visitors, to your website. The reasoning behind this is simple, it’s cheap, easy to do once you know how and lasts a long, long time, ensuring that even if you outsource the work (be careful of doing this) you will get your money’s worth eventually.
First thing to do is find keywords, keywords are sets of words that people use in search engines in order to find what they are looking for. So for example, children’s Halloween costumes, is a niche keyword as its only really applicable once a year and has a more so limited range than simply kids cloths. In order to find the best keywords for your site, you will need to use a keyword checker, a quick Google search will find you many free ones.
The next thing to do is to use those keywords with the correct density. What this means is that once you have those keywords it’s not enough to just use them once in your article, you have to use them to a specific amount. Currently people say that the best percentage is 6% on your main keyword and 2-3% on secondary keywords. This means that you should use that keyword or phrase 6 times every hundred words if possible for your main word and 2 to three times every hundred words for your secondary keywords.
Once you have your keywords and keyword density correctly setup you will want to make sure you have your meta tags done right. Meta tags are not seen by visitors but are noted by search engines and will usually be used for descriptions and titles. The main two are meta title and meta description, make sure you use your keywords when writing these.
If you do these three things then you are guaranteed to have your onsite search engine optimisation completed and natural traffic will flow to you within the coming months.
