Webmastering and Development may mean great graphics too
If you’re outsourcing your website to a virtualization host, you may want to ascertain if they have other services that may benefit your company. For example, you may have built your own site and you’re using them as the hosts. But they may have the means – in terms of design enhancements – to get your message across more effectively. Sending out the right message is essential. For example, a compliance service that takes part in audits, reviews, or inspections of any kind – whether those inspections are to guarantee that equipment is safe to use and isn’t overheating or they’re to make sure that a company’s taxes and liabilities are seen to – may want to imbue their company’s site with an air of seriousness. That sense of gravitas may not be quite so important for a children’s charity – the site content like this may need to be ditched, and bright colors and a sense of fun may be preferred through the use of animation.
Company logos may be developed by the graphics team of a hosting service. They may be more familiar than you are with the kinds of things that will target your demographic audience. The hosting service is aware that this would be a collaborative effort, but they may be more than willing to help you design or re-design your site, particularly if they are hosting it. Because a hosting service is in the business of drawing crowds to websites, it is in its interest to draw them to yours. Their graphics team will work on photography and other imagery if required, optimizing the pictures to put your business in a positive light – sometimes quite literally. The hosting service may even appreciate how words and symbols will work well on a company logo – which fonts to use (for example, whether serif fonts or not) and how well they will look on a given background.
