I have heard a great deal of conflicting advice, read a lot on line, regarding SEO and choosing a domain name. I have two dental office locations, so choosing a domain name for a new website I am developing to attract “NEW” (not existing) patients is challenging. One SEO firm article recommended separating words with dashes so search engines like Google reads between the dashes or hypens unlike the entire blended words in most domain names? To me, remembering my website is meaningless-IT IS SIMPLY GETTING THEM THERE-so a short or easy to recall domain name ISN’T AS IMPORTANT as attracting them to go to my website! I am not sure whether to have a domain name with both of my office locations, possibly separated by dashes such as “office1-office2″.com or list each separately as a domain name, such as “office1.com” and then “office2.com” and have both directed to a main website such as “caringdentist.com etc…” or both offices listed together in one domain name without spaces or dashes, “office1office2″?

Because I have two offices I am having trouble deciding as I want new potential patients living near my office location #1 who search on the internet to be directed to my one website and the same for office 2 but I only can have one website (neither office1 or office 2 alone) and can’t decide one over the other-THEY BOTH have to direct new patients at each geographic location to my one main website?

I also heard/read that search engines penalize those who have multiple mirror sites who simply 301 redirect to a main site so if I do have multiple sites as listed above redirected to “caringdentist.com” for example will I be penalized or is it Ok to have 2-4-5 sites all redirected to one without being penalized by Google etc….?

Any input will be appreciated. Thank you.
